Fire Rabbit Community Acupuncture values making acupuncture accessible to everyone. We do this by using the group treatment model, where multiple people receive acupuncture in the same room at the same time, to reduce the costs for each person.
Every treatment is individualized, safe, and high quality. We primarily use acupuncture points on the feet/legs, hands/arms, and ears/head to treat most conditions. No disrobing is required and all medical information is kept private.
To reduce barriers to receiving treatment, we eliminate long and expensive intake processes and implement trauma-informed care best practices. We make receiving acupuncture feel equitable and safe.
We believe that people aren’t “at fault” for many of the conditions and experiences they are having, based on our understanding of biopsychosocial sciences. From this, our compassionate approach allows us to partner with you to help you understand and cope with your conditions more effectively, aiming for substantial improvements.
We believe that ubiquitous and affordable access to acupuncture is one of the most elegant and efficient health services available now.
Come in and relax and experience the changes that come from regular access to acupuncture, where tradition and science meet to produce the most effective results.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Community Acupuncture flow in our office?
Community Acupuncture, also called group acupuncture, or multi-bed acupuncture in the UK, works by having patients receive acupuncture next to each other, typically in a large open space. Patients will fill out their paperwork online, come into the clinic, check in via the QR code or front desk, and have the acupuncturist pick a table for them.
Benefits of this style:
1. The benefit of healing together with your neighbors and friends increases the effect of the treatment
2. You are sharing the costs with other patients so you can receive a large enough “dose” of acupuncture to get an effect. The dose of acupuncture is determined by the regularity of treatment more than the specificity of the style used in many cases.
What we ask of you:
1. Please keep your voice down, silence your phone, and bring earplugs or headphones if you are sensitive to ambient noise (it is a community setting after all).
2. Keep heavy scents, perfumes, etc. out of the clinical space – in consideration of your neighbors.
3. Show up on time so we can keep our busy schedule managed.
4. Leave political discussions at the door – it’s a healing space, and we’re here to support you.
5. Wear loose fitting clothes. We will typically need access to up to your elbow and knees.
How does Acupuncture Work?
Our Perspective: The combination of a healing relationship between provider and patient in a safe environment, alongside the traditional and scientific explanations of Acupuncture (below) allow the body and mind to relax and drop into a healing state where physical & biochemical, psychological, and emotional changes occur that support positive change and recovery. We favor more frequent treatments for helping patients reach positive outcomes.
The Traditional Answer: Acupuncture works by restoring the harmonious flow of Qi (vital energy) through the body’s network of channels (meridians). When Qi becomes blocked, deficient, or imbalanced—due to stress, injury, emotions, diet, or external pathogens—pain or illness arises. Acupuncture needles are placed at specific points along these meridians to unblock stagnation, tonify deficiencies, or redirect rebellious Qi, supporting the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
The Scientific Answer: Acupuncture has been increasingly studied in recent decades, with growing evidence supporting its effectiveness for specific conditions like chronic pain, migraines, and osteoarthritis. Large-scale meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials have shown that acupuncture is more effective than both no treatment and sham acupuncture for managing pain, suggesting real physiological effects. The mechanism is thought to involve modulation of the nervous system, including the release of endogenous opioids, improved blood flow, and changes in brain activity related to pain perception.
Will I be safe in clinic, will my medical history remain private even in a group setting?
Yes, we will do your initial intake in a private setting, and we keep accurate notes in our encrypted electronic health records system. On repeat visits, the intake will be done quietly table side or chairside, and in our experience there is no issue with sensitive health information being leaked. Anything that requires absolute privacy can be communicated to us in advance via the patient portal.
As an additional note, many patients find more safety in a group setting, as people tend to behave better when a group is present.
In short, the community acupuncture setting might be an adjustment for those used to a private room experience, but we have found that people end up loving it! See you soon!
Do we take insurance?
Currently, we do not accept insurance. We set our rates to be reasonable for a community setting based on the annual median price of community acupuncture in Oregon.
Why are we called Fire Rabbit Community Acupuncture?

What are your prices?
Please check out our Pricing page for more information.
Why do visits require a card on file to schedule?
We keep costs low by not keeping a receptionist on staff. A consequence of that is our billing and scheduling process needs to be mostly automated. We believe that the vast majority of people have access to debit cards in the USA currently. We can accommodate you if you prefer to pay by cash or check via same day appointments if there is availability, please contact us for more info. If you want to have more security and limit unauthorized transactions, we recommend generating virtual cards from https://www.privacy.com/ which are compatible with our system.
