Two clear ways to receive care.
Fire Rabbit offers both self-pay community acupuncture and insurance-billed acupuncture. To keep everything simple and compliant, these are separate payment pathways. You choose the path that works best for you before your visit.
Path 1: Self-pay community acupuncture
Community acupuncture is our most accessible self-pay option. Treatments take place in a peaceful shared treatment room, which helps us keep care affordable.
New Patient Community Visit
Includes intake, assessment, treatment planning, and your first community acupuncture treatment.
Return Community Visit
For continuing care, maintenance, pain relief, stress support, and follow-up treatments.
Path 2: Insurance-billed acupuncture
We accept many insurance plans for covered acupuncture visits. Coverage varies by plan, so we verify benefits before your first insurance visit whenever possible.
Using Insurance
If your plan includes acupuncture benefits, we may be able to bill your insurance directly. Your final cost depends on your plan.
- Copay
- Deductible
- Coinsurance
- Visit limits
- Diagnosis or medical necessity requirements
Please contact us first
Before scheduling an insurance visit, please call us so we can collect your insurance information (or simply add to your patient portal), check your benefits, and help you select the correct appointment type.
Insurance benefit checks are helpful, but they are not a guarantee of payment.
Which option should I choose?
Here is the simple version.
| Option | Best for | How payment works |
|---|---|---|
| Self-pay community acupuncture | Patients who want simple, affordable care without using insurance. | You choose an amount within the published sliding scale and pay at the time of service. No insurance claim is submitted. |
| Insurance-billed acupuncture | Patients whose insurance plan covers acupuncture and who want to use their benefits. | We bill your insurance when appropriate. You are responsible for any copay, deductible, coinsurance, or non-covered amount required by your plan. |

Frequently asked questions
Can I use insurance for the sliding scale?
No. The sliding scale is a self-pay option for community acupuncture. It is not combined with insurance billing.
Can I choose self-pay instead of using insurance?
Yes. You may choose self-pay community acupuncture instead of using insurance. The choice should be made before the visit.
What if my insurance has a high deductible?
If you choose to use insurance, your deductible and other patient responsibility are determined by your plan. If you prefer not to use insurance, you may choose the self-pay community acupuncture option instead.
Do you waive copays or deductibles?
We do not routinely waive copays, deductibles, or coinsurance for insurance-billed visits. Patient responsibility is determined by your insurance plan.
Is insurance coverage guaranteed?
No. We do our best to verify benefits, but insurance quotes are not a guarantee of payment. Final coverage decisions are made by your insurer.
Do I need to prove my income for the sliding scale?
No. The self-pay sliding scale is based on trust. Choose what is sustainable for you within the listed range.
